i havent read all the things due to lazyness i suppose but this is my thoguht
i like the fourms, i think for D3 just make another subfourm section like the Diablo 2 one, knock down the diablo 2 one just in case some people choose to continue to play it, which i dont doubt would happen.
everything else is fine i still have much <3 for the padded

Adding other games may or may not help. Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 are the obvious candidates, having the same free to play model as Diablo 2.
What I would like to see is a way to trade in runes for something. With all the members here, there are a lot of runes floating around - enough to cube into some pretty high runes over time, but no one person ever has that many.
If there were to be an "acidbux" system introduced - my vote is keep in simple. Have a central repository for stuff and get acidbux by donating stuff there - and by no other method. Keep the currency at something like 10 Pgems = 1 acidbux and price everything accordingly. The big downside is that this would require the mods to have about 200 accounts to store all the stuff which they would spend half their time logging into just so they don't expire and to confirm inventory.

Think the arcade section would be a awsome idea.Added a arcade section on my website also keeps records and high scores.we could make contest for high scores etc.when i added the high score recorder to my site games where played more often because people wanted to set records

The D3 community and trading system may make this forum obsolete for the purpose most were driven here for. Same goes for d2jsp, which in all honesty, filled the right gap that battle.net left for the majority...OF IDIOT KIDS.
$.02:
- Keep the front page updated with the latest & greatest Diablo III information, strictly from battle.net, there are tons of video, interviews, and articles to link to.
- Make the front page user content driven, selectively, of course, maybe a drupal engine...and with that...
- ...ditch/archive the forums (hides) for the sole purpose of either trading if necessary, or gathering ideas or builds for Diablo III.
- Calculators, planners, any possible hole or Diablo III gameplay enhancement. I could offer custom app writing for fun if I had the data and graphics to play with. (php/sql/xml/ajax) In all seriousness, I'd rather see a community like this thrive in D3, if I can offer a bit of blood and sweat...
- Raw data for items, quests, characters: printable, exportable, browse-able in one damn spot.

I really like the idea of the BB being used more as an information forum. If you look at the variety of forums currently being posted in it, out of all the diablo ones, the discussion area (which is mainly people asking strange questions they would like help with) seems to be one of the hotter areas. Insert additional D3 information (as mentioned above) and people would come to this much better maintained and faster board than some "rivals". I also agree with considering making the main nav's completely game seperated. One link for each game + the strange ones such as the one that has rooster's perch etc.
